What does commissioning a painting or print look like?

When you contact us to consult you on your personal commissioned painting or block print, we go over the details so you feel comfortable before moving forward. We decide your choice of size, color and selection of style and substance. We then go over pricing, process timing, and options for payment.

What comes with a commissioned painting?

Every artwork has a process of development documented, archived and shared via our online journal but may be posted privately and protected for your eyes only to view.

Brian documents the creation of the piece through:

  • Concept sketches and color studies: See the idea being sketched out and a play of colors as he conceives the new painting in progress.
  • Progress pictures of the painting in it’s various stages. See layers and details added on in the process via her blog.
  • Unveiling event. At the completion of each piece, Brian will reveal the piece via recorded or live video. For local collectors, a meeting may be scheduled to present the new painting. In the unveiling, Brian will talk about the piece, share his collection of sketches, studies and thoughts.
  • A Certificate of Authenticity that verifies it’s value and origin, which is an important document for your original artwork.

What is the payment process?

All commissioned work requires a 50% down payment of the total up front to cover material costs and as a deposit.
